Interestingly, TiO 2 films deposited by two magnetron co-sputtering without bias voltage had one of the highest band gap values between the investigated films but its photocatalytic activity was superior compared to all other samples. It is suggested that this is due to the dominating nanocrystalline anatase phase with various exposed surfaces including photocatalytically the most active {001}. Catalytic activity of freshly generated chromium electrode surfaces. Nature 301, 692–694 (1983) doi:10 Abstract. Correlation between catalytic activity and low-energy local electronic fluctuations in transition metals is proposed. A theory and calculations are presented which indicate that maximum electronic fluctuations take place at high-coordination metal sites. In an analysis device and a method for testing the catalytic activity of surfaces, a reaction cell is provided that has a recess for a sample that is provided with the catalytic surface. By Zhao-Bin Ding, Geng Sun, Feng Wu and Hong Jiang. Abstract. Studies on electronic structure and chemical reactivity of transition metal surfaces play an important role in heterogeneous catalysis. In particular, bimetallic transition metal surfaces have received extensive attention theoretically Quantitative Determination of the Catalytic Activity of Bulk Metal Oxides for Formic Acid Oxidation David E. Catalytic activity is usually denoted by the symbol z and measured in mol/s, a unit which was called katal and defined the SI unit for catalytic activity since 1999. Catalytic activity is not a kind of reaction rate, but a property of the catalyst under certain conditions, in relation to a specific chemical reaction. 1 .
